RCMP are on the lookout for a 54-year-old man who escaped from the minimum security federal prison in Maskwacis, Alberta.
Darrell Moosomin disappeared Saturday evening when he was at the Samson Cree Nation Powwow.
Police say was declared a dangerous offender in 2008 and was serving an indeterminate sentence for violent offenses going back to 1995.
Moosomin is originally from Mosquito Lake, Saskatchewan.
He is described as First Nations, 5-foot-9, 217 pounds.
A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of 54-year-old Darrell Moosomin is asked to contact the RCMP.
