The provincial government has laid out its legislative agenda in a throne speech opening a new session of the Saskatchewan Legislature.

In it, the government outlines plans to introduce legislation to allow for the privatization of 40 government-owned liquor stores.

As well, the province plans to expand a remote technology health care pilot project in Pelican Narrows to other northern communities.

The government is also committed to providing the First Nations Power Corporation with contracts for 40 megawatts of green power.

The throne speech also unveils plans to offer private CT scans under the same formula as MRI scans where the private company must provide one free scan for each one paid for.

There were also some hints about the June 1 budget.  The throne speech says the budget will begin the process of a government-wide exercise of “transformational change” to public services — delivering them in the most effective, efficient way possible.
