While the threat of forest fires has eased up in Saskatchewan because of the recent rain, that is not the case in the La Ronge area.

The province says the fire hazards are “extreme” in those areas.

As a result, the government has imposed a fire ban in Lac La Ronge Provincial Park and Missinipe Recreation site. Camp stoves are allowed but open fires are prohibited.

On Tuesday, the government announced open fire bans in several parks in the Northwest.
