A 29-year-old man from Stanley Mission was killed in a snowmobile accident over the weekend.

RCMP say the victim was the driver and lone occupant of the snow machine when it collided with rocks along the shoreline of a bay in Stanley Mission at around noon on Saturday.

According to police, he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

RCMP are not releasing the victim’s name, but he is being identified as Perry J. Bird on social media.

A wake service will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Stanley Mission.

Bird’s funeral will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
