Over $15,000 has been raised for the victims of the La Loche shootings, thanks to a GoFundMe Campaign.
Shelley Janvier is a school teacher in Burnaby, BC and says she felt compelled to start the “Victims of La Loche Shooting” fundraising campaign because she grew up just north of the community in Descharme Lake.
According to the GoFundMe page, Janvier began her teaching career in La Loche.
She says she taught 21-year-old Marie Janvier, one of the victims of Friday’s shooting.
Shelley says Marie was full of energy and loved her language.
By midday today, the “Victims of La Loche Shooting” GoFundMe campaign had raised $15,602 of its $60,000 goal.
