The new season of the HGTV show Timber Kings is set to unveil a cabin build in northern Saskatchewan.

The show follows a B-C based construction company – Pioneer Log Homes – known worldwide for its handcrafted log homes.

The company’s helped create something beautiful to rise from the ashes of the wildfires around La Ronge this summer. When Tyler Onishenko and his partner lost their home to flames, they asked the internationally-known company to help them rebuild.

The company’s general manager Andre Chevigny says they’ll touch on that in the episode.

“My nephew Brian Jr. and his crew were the ones over there and they did have a tour around. From what I understand the fires were devastating and it was really something, the guys felt privileged to be able to do something and help rebuild,” he said.

The La Ronge-area project was underway in October. Pioneer Log Homes actually builds their homes in B-C, deconstructs them and ships the logs to their final home.

Chevigny says the la Ronge-area build was unique.

“Usually what we do is build something from scratch. With them it was rebuilding something that they had lost in the fire. It was really exciting just for us to have the opportunity to work with them and rebuild their dream and even improve on it,” he said.

But even with that difference, this Nemeiben Lake build has one thing in common with others the B.C.-based company’s taken on.

“We’re really used to the small town stuff. So it’s kind of fun in a way, you know, somebody knows we’re coming before we even get there and they know what we’ve done before we even leave, so it’s kind of cool,” Chevigny said with a laugh.

Season 3 of Timber Kings premiers on HGTV on Jan 3.

Chevigny says the La Ronge build was about their ninth of the year for the show, so we may have to wait awhile to see the grand unveiling on TV.
