On Thursday, New Democrat leader Thomas Mulcair announced which of his MPs will shadow the Liberal government.

Desnethé–Missinippi–Churchill River MP, Georgina Jolibois was handed Western Economic Diversification Canada and Deputy Indigenous and Northern Affairs.

Jolibois will work with Charlie Angus, who will be the lead on the Indigenous and Northern Affairs file.

Angus will focus on building a new era of nation-to-nation relationship with First Nations, starting with an inquiry into missing and murdered indigenous women.

Meanwhile, other notables include Niki Ashton, MP for Churchill-Keewatinook Aski. She will be responsible for Jobs, Employment and Workforce Development.

Romeo Saganash will handle Intergovernmental Aboriginal Affairs, Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency.

Each NDP MP has received a shadow cabinet post.
