*** UPDATE — RCMP now say the missing berry pickers have been found safe.  The pickers were located safe and sound this morning by RCMP members and searchers near the Pinehouse junction near Highway 165.

Mounties say their vehicle got stuck so they stayed with their vehicle overnight.

Beauval RCMP are searching for three people reported missing last night after they went out to do some berry picking.

Police say 66-year-old Victor Misponas, 62-year-old Terry Wuttunee and 61-year-old Irene Campbell left a residence on La Plonge First Nation yesterday morning.

They were going to go berry picking around the Sandy Beach area, about 28-kilometers northeast of Beauval.

When they didn’t return in the evening, family members contacted police.

Search and Rescue are on the way as well as a search plane.

Local family and RCMP detachment members continue to search for them.

Last night, the temperature was near freezing and police and family are concerned for their safety.

Victor Misponas is Aboriginal and was possibly last wearing a black jacket and jeans.

He has short white hair and has health concerns.

Terry Wuttunee is Aboriginal with short hair.

She was last wearing a blue Firefly winter coat and hiking shoes.

Irene Campbell is Aboriginal with long black hair and was last wearing a black and blue coat and jeans.

They were traveling in an older model white GMC Tahoe.

RCMP advise that roads are very difficult to travel on due to recent rain in the area.

Anyone seeing anything suspicious or out of place like strange tracks, persons walking or a vehicle is asked to contact Beauval RCMP at 306-829-5670.
