RCMP confirm a house that burned earlier this week on a La Ronge-area reserve had been the subject of three break-and-enter calls, including one the night of the fire.

Local Mounties are treating the early Tuesday morning fire on the Bell’s Point reserve earlier this week as suspicious.

No one was inside the home at the time of the fire, which was reported shortly after midnight Tuesday morning.

Less than two hours earlier, Mounties had been called to the same residence about an attempted break-in.

Whoever was responsible wasn’t able to get inside the house and they weren’t there when RCMP arrived.

All of the incidents are still under investigation, and no one has been arrested.

The RCMP says the fire was contained to one room, although smoke filled the entire house. The house is still standing.

La Ronge RCMP is also putting a call out for anyone who has information about the incidents. People can contact the RCMP or CrimeStoppers.
