The Indigenous Gaming Regulators handed out awards Friday to First Nation charitable gaming operations that are based on-reserve.

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Keethanow Bingo North was one of four award recipients picking up the outstanding operations and management award.

“They’re well run,” says IGR CEO and President Greg Ahenakew. “Their reporting requirements for charities are met and exceeded all the time. They run such a good operation and they raise so much money for the community, that’s what we’re recognizing them for.”

The Keethanow Bingo North has been in operations for more than 30 years.

The Stanley Mission Emergency Fund won the award for outstanding reporting.

The winner for the outstanding innovation award went to Creek FM Radio Bingo.

The Mistawasis Fundraising Committee won the award for outstanding best practices.

The winner for the one-time award for exemplary volunteerism is Ms. Connie Brooks.
