The boil water advisory for the Saskatchewan city of North Battleford is over.

The Water Security Agency has given them the all-clear, said city manager James Puffalt, who is pleased with how everything was handled.

“Overall the plant does what it’s supposed to do, it’s alarmed. Our people did what they were supposed to do, they shut down the plant down as soon as something happened and everything worked out,” Puffalt said.

A plant error last Tuesday meant about 8,000 litres of partially treated water overflowed into a treated water reservoir, but none made it outside the plant.

Puffalt said they still have to figure out why one of the alarms didn’t go off right away, and that they are working on that.
