UPDATE – Prince Albert police report Lawrence Sewap was apprehended early Tuesday afternoon (July 28).

 

Police are on the lookout for a 35-year-old man who escaped from the minimum security unit at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert.

Corrections officials say during a count on Sunday afternoon, staff members discovered that Lawrence Sewap was missing.

He is currently serving a three-year, nine-month sentence for several offences including aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and being unlawfully at large.

Sewap is six feet tall, weighs 168 pounds and has a medium complexion, brown eyes and brown hair.

Anyone who has information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police.
