The RCMP is releasing names in the Red Earth First Nation murder that happened over the weekend.

The victim, 42-year-old Dion Head, was found dead in his home on Saturday.

Carrot River RCMP received a call about an injured man at a home on the reserve at around 11:30 Saturday morning.

Investigators ruled the death a homicide.

Two males were arrested the same day in separate homes.

Now, a 16-year-old boy and 20-year-old Ernest McKay are facing second-degree murder charges.

Head’s autopsy was scheduled for Monday in Saskatoon and the two accused will be in Melfort court on Tuesday to face their charges for the first time.

The RCMP Major Crime Unit was called in along with officers from several other detachments.
