The man wanted in connection to a shooting death in La Ronge this week has been taken into custody.

RCMP say Jonas Budd surrendered to police without incident last night around 10:30.

He will be making his first court appearance in La Ronge, Monday morning at 9:30.

He is facing numerous charges and more information will be released later today.

The 43-year-old had been holed up in a home at Sturgeon Landing, near the Manitoba border, since early yesterday.

RCMP have been looking for Budd since early Wednesday morning after a 17-year-old youth was shot to death on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

The victim’s girlfriend was then abducted, leading to an Amber Alert, but she was later found unharmed at Cranberry Portage , Manitoba.
