Vern Stratton is the newest elected member on La Ronge council.
Stratton was elected to council in a tight race edging out Cory Ecarnot 64 votes to 62 in Wednesday’s by-election.
A total of seven candidates ran for the council seat and 273 residents cast votes.
Stratton replaces former La Ronge councillor Brent McDougall who was required to step down from his seat when he recently moved to the nearby Village of Air Ronge.
