A woman found guilty of manslaughter in relation to an incident in Prince Albert 5 years ago has died in hospital.

In July of 2009, police had discovered the body of a 46 year old man in the west flat area.

Shortly after police had charged Nancy Andres in relation to the incident.

In May 2011, Andres was found guilty of manslaughter and assault and had been serving an indeterminate sentence at the Edmonton Institute for Women.

Andres died at a local hospital on Monday, while serving her sentence.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the coroner has been notified and the circumstances around the death will be reviewed.

Andres’ next of kin has been notified of her death.
