Francis Iron is the new chief of the Canoe Lake Cree Nation after defeating incumbent Robert Opekokew 261 votes to 203.
Iron joins newly elected councillors Wilfred Iron, Lorne Iron and Florence Yew.
Ralph Opikokew, August Iron and Eval Lariviere were also re-elected to council.
A total of 26 candidates ran for six council positions.
Band elections were held on Friday.
Voters in Waterhen Lake First Nation go to the polls Monday.
