One man was killed as the result of a fatal collision near the Kawacatoose First Nation Monday night.
Police were responding to a complaint of two possible drunk drivers around 6:30 p.m. when the collision ocurred.
They say a Pontiac Grand Prix lost control on a curve and slid into a Chevrolet Cavalier.
The 38 year-old driver of the Grand Prix died at the scene and the 43-year-old male driver of the Cavalier was taken to Wynyard Hospital with undetermined injuries.
RCMP spokesperson Mandy Maier says the collision occurred just west of the location of the initial complaint.
She says the driver of a third vehicle was arrested on the scene.
“The 36-year-old male driver was driving a third pickup truck that was not involved in the collision and he was arrested at the scene and remanded into custody on a separate incident and an RCMP analyst continues to investigate at this time with Punnichy RCMP,” she says.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing but police believe alcohol was a contributing factor in the incident.
