Sixty-two youth from northern Saskatchewan will be attending an art workshop in Prince Albert this weekend.

The Northern Spirits Program aims to immerse youth in the arts and allow them to discover different venues to explore the arts.

Founder of the program Cheryl Kimbley says the workshop has been a success over the years.

“Our youth that have gone through over the years have come back again and again and told us this was something that worked for them,” she says. “Of course, anything that helps with our youth in this day and age is going to be a positive for me and anyone else that brings the kids like parents and chaperones, etc.”

The three-day workshop will prepare the youth to show what they have learned at the Northern Spirits Showcase in February.
