A 31-year-old man accused of attempted murder and kidnapping has pleaded not guilty.
Kevin Henderson, of the Beardy’s and Okemasis First Nation, made the plea Tuesday morning in a Prince Albert courtroom.
The charges stem from an incident this past July in Montreal Lake where Henderson’s 66-year-old aunt was allegedly kidnapped and assaulted.
Henderson also pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of stealing a motor vehicle.
He did plead guilty to several unrelated offenses and will remain in custody until July of next year for these charges.
The trial is set to take place May 13-14 in Montreal Lake.
