The Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert is currently overcapacity.
Due to the issue, the hospital is accepting emergency patients only and is asking anyone with a minor health issue to attend a walk-in clinic.
Doug Dahl with the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region says the problem of overcapacity at the hospital has become a problem in the past few months.
“Going back through July, June and May we have had issues,” said Dahl. “It has become more common for us in recent years then it was several years ago.”
Dahl says the plan for new development around the hospital will help alleviate the problem in the future.
“Of course that is not a quick solution, but we are continuing to work with other regions to help manage our patients that require care.”
