A man charged in the killing of a Sucker River woman last fall is going to trial.

The decision was made by a La Ronge judge this past Friday after a three-day preliminary hearing.

Twenty-eight-year-old Ricky Ross faces charges of first-degree murder and committing an indignity to a body in the death of 24-year-old Jodi Roberts.

The mother of two young children was reported missing in early November 2013.

A ground search turned up her remains near Sucker River three weeks later.

Roberts’ family members say they have been told the trial will be held in Prince Albert Court of Queen’s Bench either next spring or fall.
