Three pedestrians had to be airlifted to a Saskatoon hospital after being struck by a vehicle on a northern reserve over the weekend.

RCMP say the incident happened in Grandmother’s Bay shortly after midnight on Sunday.

Witnesses say the driver of a pickup truck fled the scene on foot shortly after hitting the victims on a local street.

Their injuries aren’t considered life-threatening.  Two of the victims — a 19-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man — have since been released, but a 42-year-old man remains in hospital.

A suspect was arrested last evening.

Twenty-six-year-old Grandmother’s Bay resident Clayton Scott Roberts faces three counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm and an additional charge of failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

Roberts appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court this morning and was released.

He will be back in court on October 16 in Stanley Mission.
