The province has contributed $217,000 to the on-going renovations to the province’s oldest building.

Holy Trinity Anglican Church, a well-known landmark along the Churchill River, will receive refurbishment of stained glass windows and frames.

It is the second phase of upgrades being made to the church in Stanley Mission at Lac La Ronge Provincial Park.

Officials say the church has 37 windows which contain more than one thousand pieces of stained glass combined.

Construction of the church took place between 1854 and 1860 and the building was designated as a Provincial Heritage Site in 1981.
