Communities in the La Ronge area have been accepted to be part of a program called Becoming a Community Builder.
It is a 90-day, free professional leadership program, presented online for adults and high school students.
Bryce Herperger of Pre Cam Community School is part of the local planning team and says people from La Ronge, Air Ronge, the Lac La Ronge Indian Band and surrounding area can take part.
“There will be five live video workshops, one every three weeks. There will be a live video chat coaching session. There will be motivational emails and reinforcement emails on the leadership training and on the videos.”
Herperger says three goals were identified for the program.
“One was to engage our youth and build into our youth, another one was to revitalize our community getting more people involved and also to kind of build up our volunteer base.”
