REGINA – One of three people charged in a double slaying on a
Saskatchewan reserve near Regina has pleaded guilty.
A man and woman from the Standing Buffalo First Nation near Fort
Qu’Appelle were found dead in a home in October 2012.
A 17-year-old teenager and two adults were charged with first-degree murder.
The teen, who is now 19, has appeared in Court of Queen’s Bench in Regina and pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of second-degree murder.
He cannot be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The Crown says it will seek an adult life sentence, while the defence has indicated it will argue for a youth sentence.
