A 70-year-old man from Southend has been arrested by La Ronge RCMP on charges of uttering threats and possession of weapons.

Police say they arrested Louis Baulne on Wednesday morning about 180 kilometres south of La Ronge.

Baulne was wanted on charges of uttering threats to shoot police officers.

In a search of his vehicle and residence, police allege they found several weapons including six rifles, two handguns, swords, throwing knives and a large amount of ammunition.

Baulne now faces 12 different charges including uttering threats against a person and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

He appeared in provincial court Thursday morning.
