An interactive program with the goal of teaching about SaskPower is coming to the Prince Albert are this weekend.

The Power to Grow tour will be in Shellbrook on Saturday and Prince Albert on Sunday.

SaskPower spokesperson Heather Johnson says the tour has been visiting communities across the province.

“We have been out there all summer long to talk to our customers about the work that we are doing to power the province today and into the future, the different challenges we are facing along the way and just helping educate people on what we are doing out there,” she says.

Much of SaskPower’s infrastructure was built over 50 years ago and Johnson says the Crown corporation is planning on investing billions of dollars to upgrade the system.

“We thought the best way to educate people about what we are doing is to create this really fun and interactive experience about what we did in the past, what we are doing in the future and to bring it right to our customers.”

The tour will take place at the Shellbrook Street Fair on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All ages are welcome.
