Several young people have been arrested in relation to the trashing of the Montreal Lake Cree Nation’s hockey arena Monday.

Mounties say they have identified a total of 17 adults and youths responsible for the crime and all of them are from the Montreal Lake reserve.

RCMP say there was extensive damage to the building.

Several windows inside the lobby were broken, sheets of ice surface plexi-glass were shattered and the majority of walls and ceilings were damaged.

The vandals also threw paint on the floors, bleachers, and ice surface boards.

An 18-year-old male and five youths aged 13 to 15 are facing several charges.

The RCMP says it is working with the chief and council, band members, youth workers, and child and family services to resolve the issue.
