The RCMP’s Underwater Recovery Team is searching an area of the Beaver River, near Beauval, for two men whose vehicle is believed to have gone off the bridge and into the water Saturday morning.
Mounties received a report of a pickup truck, possible being driven by an intoxicated motorist, speeding through Beauval early Saturday.
Officers sent to investigate didn’t come across the truck — but they discovered debris on a bridge just outside of the northern community.
The debris included vehicle parts that matched the colour of the truck, as well as wood debris from the bridge.
Underwater cameras detected an object resembling a vehicle.
It is believed that the truck, with two local men in their 20’s, is 20 feet under water.
