A Prince Albert MLA is taking the lead on northern issues with a new cabinet role in the Wall government.
Prince Albert Northcote MLA Victoria Jurgens is the new Legislative Secretary for Government Relations for Northern Saskatchewan.
Jurgens’ new role will see her take the lead on key issues northern Saskatchewan faces including economic development, training and education and relationship building between the province and communities across the north.
She says she wants to make sure the people of the north have a voice.
“I’m very pleased that the premier, Brad Wall, and the minister, Jim Reiter, would recognize my skills and would trust me to bring this forward and bring the voice of the north back down to them,” she says.
The focus of the position is to get more northern residents to participate in the economy and support economic growth in this part of the province.
