New video surveillance footage may help police find the assailants in a horrific attack in Prince Albert.

A homeless woman was viciously assaulted and burned in downtown Prince Albert on June 1.

There have been reports that both of her legs had to be amputated and her recovery could last up to six weeks.

Prince Albert police spokesperson Sgt. Brandon Mudry confirmed investigators have received surveillance footage of the area where she was assaulted.

“Investigators have seized hours, hundreds of hours of video from downtown businesses,” he says. “Surveillance video was captured the night of and prior to the assault. Investigators are currently reviewing that video tape in an attempt to identify leads and suspects.”

The victim’s mother will be speaking at the second honour walk for her daughter which is set for Thursday at Prince Albert city hall beginning at 9 a.m.

Our House Shelter in Prince Albert is planning a barbeque fundraiser for the woman on July 6 starting at 11:00 a.m.

All money raised will go directly to the victim and her family.
