Longtime Onion Lake Cree Nation Chief Wallace Fox has been returned to office for another term.
Fox fended off five challengers in Wednesday’s band election.
However, the Onion Lake band council will have a new look with just three incumbents being re-elected.
Joe Dillon, Doreen Mason and Walter Pahtayken are all returning to council.
Two other incumbent councillors – Roy Littlewolfe and Leon Whitstone – came up short in their re-election bids.
Newly elected councillors are Hubert P. Pahtayken, Florence Blois, Quincy Littlewolfe and Joe Waskewitch senior.
The band announced the news via Twitter on Thursday morning.
