Black Lake Chief Ricky Robillard has a knack for winning close elections.

The incumbent chief was re-elected to a second term in office in yesterday’s chief and council election.

Ricky Robillard defeated two other candidates — but his margin of victory over runner-up Ann Gordon-Toutsaint was just 10 votes.  When he first came into office two years ago, he had nine more votes than the runner-up.

The new Black Lake band council features four incumbents and three newcomers.

John Toutsaint, Ambrose Sandypoint, Raymond McDonald and Elizabeth Alphonse were all re-elected.

The new councillors are Victor Ecodh, Marianne Isadore and Mary Rose Bouvier.

There were seven spoiled ballots, and two rejected ballots.

The terms are for two years.
