An Aboriginal business conference that produced more than $30 million in new business deals in British Columbia has come to Saskatchewan.

The Aboriginal Business Match conference is getting underway this week at Teachers’ Credit Union Place in Saskatoon.

It is a three-day event where First Nations and Métis communities and private businesses come together to discuss potential opportunities and partnerships.

The Clarence Campeau Development Fund is co-hosting the event and spokesperson Monica Brunet says it’s a fast and convenient way to make the right business connections.

“It’s done kind of like a speed dating event, everything is done ahead of time, booked ahead of time,” she says. “Where you have 20 minute appointments, where you have the opportunity to meet the decision makers and that you can make the contact, create some business deals. Just have the right people in the room, at the right time, so we can make the connection.”

All conference attendees have an e-profile of their business or community.

Based on these profiles, participants can choose who they book meetings with.
