Officials with the Lac La Ronge Indian Band say all residents of Stanley Mission can now return home.

The general evacuation order was lifted Monday afternoon and the road to the community is open.

There were still concerns about smoke in the area but Chief Tammy Cook-Searson says with the rain, that issue has cleared up.

She says transportation is now being arranged for people taken to La Ronge, Prince Albert and Saskatoon.

Buses are being used to transportmany people back to the community.

A number of people also left Stanley Mission in their own private vehicles and the Chief says they can also get help with expenses through the Red Cross.

The state of emergency for Stanley Mission was announced last week as two forest fires approached the community.

At one point, buildings on the reserve and the only road to the community were threatened by the fires.
