A former leader of the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan has lost his bid to become president of the A La Baie Métis Local 21 in Ile-a la Crosse.
Unofficial results from Wednesday’s election indicate Brennan Merasty received 106 votes while Jim Durocher received 105.
Edna Daigneault was elected vice-president while Napoleon Gardiner was selected by voters to be secretary.
Mike Hodgson was acclaimed as treasurer.
A total of 216 ballots were cast in the election.
