An MBC-produced animated television series has been nominated for an award at the Yorkton Film Festival.

“Louis Says” is one of four nominees for a Golden Sheaf Award in the Children’s and Youth Production Category.

The half-hour show is designed to get children to learn Cree words.

The eight-episode series debuted on APTN this past winter.

The program is about a six-year-old named Randy who learns new words in Cree while helping an elder named Louis with his work around the community.

The Yorkton Film Festival runs May 22-25.
