A 19-year-old man from the Saulteaux First Nation who is facing a murder charge has been released from custody.

Taryn Lee Cote was charged with second-degree murder following the death of 24-year-old Bryan Darnell Blackstar.

On February 2, police were called to the Moosomin First Nation after reports of an assault.

Officers found the body of Blackstar in a home on the reserve and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man, 18-year-old Troy Andrew Swiftwolfe from the Moosomin reserve, was also arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Swiftwolfe has also been released from custody.

Both suspects are scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on April 15.
