Linking young Aboriginal people to potential employers is the focus of a conference in Saskatoon today.
Roughly 69 companies are represented at the Future is Yours Career Expo and about 1,000 students registered.
Event spokesperson Jamie Lerat says the career fair features a broad cross-section of some of Western Canada’s best employers.
“We’ve got educational institutions, we’ve got the health and emergency sector being represented, we’ve got the construction and trades sector,” she says.
She adds a number of workshops are also being offered.
“We have workshops on proper resume writing, we have workshops in regards to financial piece, so there are three different kinds workshops there that we are going to be providing.”
The job fair is co-hosted by the Saskatoon Tribal Council and Potash Corp.
