A call is going out to Aboriginal groups that are interested in holding healing ceremonies for residential school survivors.

The Indian Residential School Adjudication Secretariat is accepting proposals between now and March 31.

The Secretariat oversees the Independent Assessment Process.

Chief Adjudicator Dan Shapiro says up to $3,500 is available to groups that want to hold events:

“it is and it’s really for people that want to have the benefit of other students going through the process, to share with them, to lean on one another and identify.”

Community workshops, pow-wows, sweat-lodges or healing ceremonies are some examples of eligible events.
