A missing northern Saskatchewan snowmobiler appears to be okay after spending the night out in frigid temperatures.

Search and rescue personnel from La Ronge, Stanley Mission and Grandmother’s Bay were called out Monday morning.

La Ronge searcher Tom Charles says it is believed the driver encountered trouble with his machine Sunday evening in the Grandmother’s Bay area.

There are also reports his machine got stuck in slush.

The man, believed to be about 20-years-old, spent the night in a nearby cabin before being located this morning.

Other than experiencing some discomfort from the temperatures, Charles says the man appears to be okay.

The temperature in the region dropped down to -39 degrees Celsius overnight, but with the wind chill, it felt more like -44.
