The man charged with allegedly stealing millions of dollars from the Whitecap First Nation made his third appearance in a Saskatoon courtroom today.

Hugo Gallegos is charged with theft over $5,000 and fraud over $5,000.

A Canada-wide warrant for Gallegos’ arrest had been issued in September following an RCMP investigation into complaints of missing funds at Whitecap.

He turned himself into authorities in October after flying back from his home country of El Salvador.

His next appearance will be in the new year.
