The Saskatoon Police Service is seeking feedback from the public as it draws up its five-year business plan.

SPS met with about 100 community stakeholders Monday morning.

Police spokesperson Alyson Edwards says these types of meetings are all about relationship building – particularly with the Indigenous community.

“Largely, for the Aboriginal and Métis organizations that are represented here, a lot of it is continue to build on the relationships that we have and to accountable, to be transparent,” she says.

Edwards adds officials from the Saskatoon Tribal Council, Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations and Central Urban Métis Federation Incorporated were present at the meeting.

She says the five-year business plan will be drawn up sometime in the new year.

Similar meetings were held in 2007 and 2010.
