The chief of the English River First Nation says it’s time to move on.

Marie Black is responding to news her reserve has been dropped from the list of communities being considered for a nuclear waste repository.

Black says she really isn’t disappointed by the news, but says she is glad they took the time to investigate the matter thoroughly:

“No, we’re not disappointed.  It was a learning stage for us, and that was basically our goal and our vision —  to educate our band members on what it was all about.”

She adds one bonus from the situation is that they managed to get some detailed analysis of the geological makeup of their region and the types of minerals that could be there.
