The RCMP say a man that was injured in a hunting accident on a northern Saskatchewan reserve last week has been transferred to a hospital in Saskatoon.

The 28-year-old victim was shot on the Little Red River reserve early Friday afternoon while hunting with three companions.

The Little Red resident was initially transported to Prince Albert’s Victoria Hospital — but RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Craig Cleary says he has since been taken to Royal University Hospital.

At last word, the victim was in serious but stable condition, and is still expected to live.

Cleary says the investigation is continuing, but there have been no arrests or charges laid.
