A large low-pressure system is causing smoky conditions in La Ronge.
Scott Wasylenchuk, of the provincial fire centre, says the system is sitting over Northern Manitoba and causing air to flow counter clock-wise.
As a result he says smoke is coming in from that province, as well as smoke from the Northwest Territories and some fires near Fond Du Lac.
It will be at least a few days before it lifts:
“With the forecasts we have at present we’re expecting that northeasterly flow to be with us for probably the next two, maybe three days.”
Wasylenchuk adds there are a few other fires burning across Northern Saskatchewan but the majority of the smoke is from these other areas.
