The search continues for two teenage girls who ran away from a camp site at Devil’s Lake over the weekend.
15 year-old Tristyne Ballantyne and 14 year-old Morgan Hystad were part of a camping excursion when they took off from their site on Saturday, August 3rd.
They swam away and were picked up by a boater.
They were later seen hitchhiking south on highway 102.
Sometime later Mounties report the girls were given a ride by a bylaw officer from a rural municipality.
However they gave the officer fake names so he didn’t realize it was them.
RCMP say they’re still trying to locate the girls who were last seen arriving in Prince Albert.
Tristyne Ballantyne is originally from Deschambault Lake, approximately 5”1, 120 lbs.
She has black hair that’s partly shaved on one side of her head.
Morgan Hystad hails from St. Benedict which is just east of Wakaw.
She is described as being a little heavier with long, curly, dark hair.
Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call Crimestoppers or La Ronge RCMP.
