RCMP have tracked down a wanted man.
Mounties say 23 year-old Joseph Desjarlais was nabbed after a foot chase Tuesday on the Fishing Lake First Nation.
Members of the Yorkton Detachment were assisted by the Swift Current K-9 Unit in apprehending the suspect.
Sergeant James Morton says they wouldn’t have caught him without the police dog:
“Well without the dog there’s no way we would have been able to track him.  He wasn’t staying on any given trail.  He was going in and out, there’s sloughs, and the lake right near there, plus lots of water through there so without the dog we would never have been able to track him.”
He was wanted for several outstanding charges including breaking and entering, using a disguise to commit a robbery and possession of a firearm in a vehicle.
He is currently in custody.
