A rollover near the Big River First Nation has claimed two lives.

RCMP say they were called out to Highway 793 around 7:30 this morning.

Sergeant Lyle Korczak says it was too late however, to help the people inside:

“When we arrived on scene we were there with the fire department and EMS and the car was upside down in the slough.  When the vehicle was pulled out, vehicle was towed from the water and two occupants were found located inside deceased, one male, one female.”

He says it appears the victims had been in there sometime after 4:00 a.m. this morning.

Families are being notified and autopsies are pending.

An accident re-constructionist was also called out to the scene.
